One of Them Days

SZA’s acting debut and of course the incomparable Keke Palmer team up to give us a light-hearted comedy for the summer (even though this was actually release in theaters in January). One of Them Days follows two Black women who happen to be roommates on a journey to find funds to make their rent and while doing so are met with an immense set of roadblocks to get it.

This movie is what I would classify as a cute feel-good movie. It’s one you can put on when you’re having a bad day or if you just need something to watch. I love that the on-screen chemistry between SZA and Keke Palmer is effortless. And let’s talk about SZA — she did VERY well. This role seemed to be made for her because I really couldn’t tell if she was acting majority of the time. I was thoroughly impressed with her ability to remain herself even beside someone more tenured like Keke Palmer. She got an A+ from me!

There are a lot of cameos in this film that make it even better; Katt Williams, Lil Rel, Janelle James and Amin Joseph to name a few.
